Kansas City is a beautiful place to be no matter the season, but something about this city in the late spring is almost magical. Streets come alive with food trucks and art fairs, patios fill with diners and drinkers, and there is no shortage of outdoor events and activities to enjoy the return of warm weather. Check out a few of my favorite fair-weather spots to visit this season and let me know which one is your favorite!

1. RideKC Streetcar: The Streetcar currently spans 2.2 miles of downtown from the River Market to Union Station, and there are endless opportunities to discover and enjoy Kansas City along the way! With 16 different stops, many of which are right in front of amazing restaurants, bars and venues, you’re guaranteed to find something new. Hop on and see where it takes you! No matter where you end up, you’ll get to enjoy the ride.
2. City Market: The City Market is home to one of the largest farmer’s markets in the Midwest. The market is open year-round, but its extended hours from April to October mean you can visit anytime between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturdays or 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sundays. Take your time perusing a wide variety of produce, homemade goods and other wares from more than 150 vendors in the open-air space surrounded by unique shops and restaurants.
3. The National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial: The Liberty Memorial is a stunning landmark in the Kansas City Skyline, commissioned shortly after the first World War ended to honor the men and women who served. The Museum and Memorial are open seven days a week between Memorial Day and Labor Day, so you have all summer long to visit the multiple galleries and view one of the largest collections of World War I artifacts in existence. 
4. Old World Balloonery: If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience this summer, Old World Balloonery is sure to deliver. Located in Overland Park, OWB offers hot air balloon rides for groups of up to six people over the Johnson County countryside. Enjoy the adventure with a group of friends, or take your significant other for a Sweetheart Ride complete with a champagne toast.
5. Ewing & Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden: Located in the heart of downtown, this stunning two-acre garden may be the best way to find that “summertime stroll through the garden of a French Chateau” feeling without leaving Kansas City. Beautiful stone buildings and walls, glistening fountains and bountiful blooms give each space in the park a dreamy, European feel that was inspired by the Kauffman’s travels throughout the continent. The park is open year-round from dawn to dusk, but its beauty during the spring and summer months is unmatched.
